John H. Bullard/Harry S. Truman collection, 1949-1978.

The John H. Bullard/Harry Truman Collection consists of correspondence from President Truman to John Bullard and his wife, Dorothy, and documents and newspaper articles about Truman throughout his presidency and his involvement with the 129th Field Artillery Division, Battery "D." There are several veteran reunion documents and multiple photographs of the Battery "D" reunions, Captain Truman with his former soldiers, and of Truman during his presidency. The collection consists of multiple documents that include the correspondence of Captain Harry Truman, to his men in the 129th Field Artillery, Battery D, in the years after World War I and the personal correspondence he had with John Bullard. The collection also includes various letters from President Truman's wife, Bess, to the Bullards, as well as newspapers and letters that outline the life of Truman and his involvement with Battery D after the war. There are also several photographs of Truman, after he became president, with the men from his company, including John H. Bullard, at political meetings and also reunions for the company.
